coconut lions in mysore

the subcontinent coconut lion has a fat nose to help it smell distant coconuts. i was not going to mention it as they are treasured and not really to be talked about, like yoga:) they are pretty grouchy and dangerous by all accounts. powerful jaws that can open coconuts and feisty dispositions keep people away even though the lions are only about the size of a koala bear. they're still around southern india.

Oh my GOD, I want one NOW. Eeyore, I NEED one of those lions. They are my kin! I can feel it! We will communicate in lionese and they will love me, Joy Suzanne and Susananda too, all the lionesses will be welcome in coconut lion land.

And they will love you because you are sweetest of cobra-blood-drinking donkeys.

WE MUST befriend the lions or I will shrivel up and die.

Do they really eat coconuts? How un-liony of them. Look adorable, though.
What did the cobra blood taste like?

meep! yes, js, meep meep. YOU are adorable, thanks:) we need a coconut lion so badly anna! all that FUR! and for snoopy to play with, thanks! alfia i think they like green coconuts. the cobra blood was pretty bad, mixed with rice alcohol it still just tasted like blood. maybe not as irony as ours. i can post more pictures.

I can't believe you broke the silence that protected the last remaining coconut lions! Woozles have been driven to the brink of severe grouchiness by camera-wielding hordes and now the same will surely happen to the coconut lions. What will become of Eeyore's wild kingdom?

Carl, it's okay because he only told US. We are just going to sneak up on the lions and make them see that we are part of their kingdom, furactualies.

OMG, LIONS WITH THE FUR!

carl, i know. but still there remains the dahoue, the mystical basset-like creature of the french alps with its two left legs shorter than the two right. it only travels counter-clockwise.

anna, they're in goa, too! roar!!

I am obsessed with this lion (and its FUR).

Do you think it will like me?

eeyore said...

it will love you!

He sure is cute. But you know how cats are. If they were bigger, they would eat you. And this one IS.

Carl said...

They will only eat you if you taste better than the kibbles you give them. So, you know, you just have to feed them kibbles that taste really good. And also it helps if you don't shower much.

boodiba said...

Oh I NEVER shower anymore. Perfect.

annabella said...

these lions will not eat me! I will roam with them in search of coconuts. I will become one with them and the forest.

Lions, ROAR!

I want to be a coconut lioness too...

I think I'd rather be a cherished house cat than a lion. My Mooshi has it pretty good...

I NEED that lion. I want to snuzzle in his neck and scratch his ears. And we can romp together in the grass, searching for coconuts, with our FUR!

eeyore said...

he can hunt for coconut food!
