sounds nice, but when?

Dig into your self for a deep answer. And if this answer rings out in assent, if you meet this solemn question with a strong simple "I must", then build your life in accordance with this necessity; your whole life, even down to its humblest and most indifferent hour, must become a sign and witness to this impulse.

Rilke

I MUST go back to India, even if I must risk everything to do so.

that's meaningful. what do I want that much? Aside from the obvious. Well, maybe that's the answer...

it's so simple, except that everything surrounding getting there is complicated. whether it's india or a relationship.

Rilke, right on. One of the things that kept me afloat in the dark days after Katrina. Like this one.

I got a donkey treat coming up!

Thanks for the appreciative comments!

Funny thing... that piece started as a soundtrack I was writing to a very sweet film from Yasujiro Ozu's silent period, which I had acquired as a bootleg. Then Criterion went and released a DVD with a newly commissioned soundtrack, so I never finished it. But now it's finished, the soundtrack to the Hundred Acre Wood! Winnie-the-Pooh is one of the first things I remember watching on TV.

me too, still my favorite, just not the disney versions. the prelude would make the best soundtrack ever.
