longings

Like the beautiful bodies of those who died before growing old,
sadly shut away in a sumptuous mausoleum,
roses by the head, jasmine at the feet -
so appear the longings that have passed
without being satisfied, not one of them granted
a single night of pleasure, or one of its radiant mornings.

Eeyore! That is the best picture ever! Bassets are so sweet and funny. I miss my dog. Is that a photo of Snoopy?

And is that a basset hound calendar? I used to have those. You and Snoopy should take a field trip to New York.

Don't know when I'll be in SF again. Maybe again this winter? More focaccia is needed!

Ashtanga and bassets...that would cover two of my most serious obsessions (if you work architecture in there, then it would really be something!).

That link doesn't seemed to have worked. :(

I remember when Freckles got away before a road trip & jumped into a brook chasing something. We had to ride with Wet Hound Smell all the way to Maine :) too funny.

Wet Hound Smell is something one never really quite forgets.

boodiba said...

They stink!!! :)

ld said...

They are smelly and there is always so much slobber. Which flies around when they shake. But they are still the most lovable dogs in the world. Not counting shibas, of course!

I like Jack Russell's, though I've never had one & people tell me they are incredibly hyper, though smart. Lettuce says I'm like a Jack Russell, and if she ever gets one she'll name it Linda whether it's a boy or girl.

Maybe actually seizing the day and getting laid can be poetic too?

Today is the day.
